Russell Ries is the host and producer of Nashville Sports Report, a weekly podcast exploring the people, teams, stories and communities that make up Nashville’s sports landscape.
A longtime Nashville sports fan, Russell created Nashville Sports Report to look beyond scores and headlines and better understand the people and ideas shaping sports in the city. Each week, he combines coverage of Nashville’s teams with conversations featuring athletes, broadcasters, journalists, photographers, executives, historians, fans and others whose work or experiences offer a different perspective on Nashville sports.
Outside the show, Russell works as a technical project manager, a background that has reinforced his interest in asking questions, translating complex subjects and helping people explain what they know.
